Bio

Dr. Daniel Lee, MD, FACS, ABHRS joined the Anderson Center for Hair surgical team in 2017. As the very first graduate of the American Academy of Hair Restoration Surgery (AAHRS), under the tutelage of Dr. Ken Anderson, Dr. Lee mastered both the linear strip (FUT) and follicular unit excision (FUE) methods of hair restoration. Today, Dr. Lee offers not only restoration surgery, but also non-surgical hair loss prevention and regenerative medicine procedures.

Dr. Lee focuses on education as an important part of the hair restoration process, ensuring that his patients understand all aspects of hair loss including methods of prevention, non-surgical treatments for hair loss, and all available methods of hair restoration surgical technique. This attention to detail and personal dedication is why patients from all over the country come to Atlanta to have Dr. Lee perform their hair restoration procedure.

During his career at Anderson Center for Hair, Dr. Lee has become Board Certified in Hair Restoration Surgery through the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS). It is the only recognized certification for hair restoration surgery in the world and is obtained by very few hair restoration surgeons which signifies commitment to life-long learning and upholding ethics in the field. He has also recently become an examiner for the certification exams and serves on the Oral Exam Committee. In addition, he serves as one of the Board of Governors of the ABHRS. Dr. Lee is also an active member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) and serves on the Pro Bono Committee. The ISHRS is a great fit for Dr. Lee who is dedicated to achieving excellence in patient outcomes by promoting the highest standards of medical practice, medical ethics, and research in the medical hair restoration field.

Dr. Lee received his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy at the Rutgers College of Pharmacy in New Jersey in 1985. He then joined the United States Air Force and through a prestigious military scholarship obtained his medical degree from The University of Medicine & Dentistry – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey. He then went on to complete his residency in general surgery at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio where he was the recipient of the “Residency Teaching Award” for providing expert instruction to medical students and other residents. After completing his residency, he served as a general surgeon for four years at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia, including two years as Chief of Surgery. He received an honorable discharge from the Air Force as a Major in 1998 and moved to Atlanta where he worked as a general surgeon with the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group for over 16 years. There he was Chief of Surgery at Piedmont Hospital and served as the Physician Program Directory of Pharmacy and Chairman of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. He was also the Chief of Surgery for Kaiser Permanente. In addition, he participated in several mission trips to the Philippines to provide general surgical care to the underserved. He then transitioned to hair restoration and has been working with the Anderson Center for Hair for over six years.

Dr. Lee grew up overseas in Singapore and Japan and in his spare times enjoys traveling, reading, and is an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan. He can often be seen in Piedmont Park in Atlanta walking his rescue pup, Hero, and at Truist Park rooting for the Braves.
