Member Support
The International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons is a privately held consumer organization providing free information concerning surgical hair restoration to patients worldwide.
Unlike other organizations in the field, the IAHRS is not all-inclusive, admitting only those physicians who meet the exacting medical, ethical and professional standards of The IAHRS. Accepted members are also committed to the promotion of smart consumerism and truth in advertising in the extremely confusing and misleading field of cosmetic surgery.
As with all organizations associated with the medical field, accepted IAHRS members pay annual membership dues.
The annual membership fee does not constitute a guarantee of 12 months of membership. If a complaint about a physician is filed with the IAHRS, the organization’s complaint process effectively weeds out those issues that lack foundation or are outside the jurisdiction of the IAHRS. If evidence is found that suggests misconduct, the physician will have their membership revoked.

Cost
Hair transplant costs have varied widely for the past few decades. In the 1970’s and 1980’s the cost of a single “plug” graft would cost anywhere from $20.00 to $50.00 each. When the doctor would perform surgeries of 200 grafts on four or five different patients every day the money would pile up quickly.

The International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons is a consumer organization that selectively screens skilled and ethical hair transplant surgeons. The IAHRS does not offer an open membership policy to doctors practicing hair transplatation, and is the only group that recognizes that all surgeons are not equal in their skill and technique. Its elite membership seeks to represent the best in the discipline, the true leaders in the field of surgical hair restoration.
