Spencer, I enjoyed Dr. Cooley’s presentation at ISHRS18th, and it was great to see it again here! From what I’ve seen personally in my practice and also through Dr. Cooley’s lecture, I think that ACell is a VERY interesting wound-healing technology… we just need to find the best way to apply it! .Dr. Cooley’s presentation on Acell in Boston was one of the most inspiring new ideas presented. His work suggests the possibility of improving scar formation for all of us in the hair restoration field. I would comment that wound healing varies greatly among individuals. Those of us who used 4 mm punches to harvest grafts will remember the rare patient in whom the round scars contracted such that they essenially diappeared and no scar could be found, whereas most patients healed by secontary intension and were left with muntiple round scars. For this reason it is wise to have comparisons (Acell or no Acell) in the same patient if this is paossible.
Good idea Paul, but in the slide presented by Cooley, I think it is clearly seen that
the 4mm wound didn’t heal by simple contraction.
I think the new hair growing can be clearly distinguished from the surrounding hair, because this new hair is finer.
