Bio

Michael Vories, MD is originally from Kentucky, and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Chemistry. He graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine with Distinction in 1996. After internship and surgical residency at the University of Kentucky, he served with the National Health Service Corps until 2003, when he opened Carolina Hair Surgery in 2003. He has exclusively practiced hair transplant surgery since then, with a focus on Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).

He is certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) since 2007, and currently sits on the ABHRS Board of Directors. He has served as the ABHRS Chairman for the Oral Examination, where he has written and proctored examinations in Houston, Capri, Bangkok, Seoul, and Kuala Lumpur. He is currently the Vice President of the ABHRS.

His practice is unique in that he only offers the FUE procedure, due to the many benefits of FUE to his patients. He is a firm believer that FUE is a surgical procedure, and so he performs all aspects of the surgery, including all extractions, removal, and placing of the grafts personally. For this reason only one procedure is performed per day. He is assisted only by a single surgical assistant, who is limited to counting and collating grafts during extraction, and loading Implanter Pens during the insertion phase of the procedure.

He currently maintains a surgical office in the Charlotte, North Carolina, and Charleston, South Carolina metropolitan areas.

He is married with four daughters.
