Dr. Feriduni ‘s philosophy is to provide each patient with a high quality hair restoration procedure, in which the patient’s well-being and personal wishes are of major concern.  A physician is always trained to become a good doctor but is not necessarily trained in human interest. However Dr. Feriduni feels it is of a fundamental importance that each patient, who suffers from hair loss is taken seriously.

As a physician, Dr. Feriduni is dealing with people who often suffer from a lack of confidence and are expecting him to help them to achieve a new phase in their life. Each one of his patients confide in him with their hair restoration treatment as well as the ultimate result of the treatment.

Basically the guarantee of the overall success of the patient‘s hair restoration procedure lies in the hands of the hair surgeon. Taking this into consideration it is of an essential matter that the hair surgeon is able to evaluate all options and limitations of his patient ‘s treatment. It is the surgeon’s task to inform his patient in the most professional and detailed way, to listen to the patient’s personal suggestions and desires and to guide him on his way to become a happy and satisfied patient.  

Dr. Feriduni started in 1993 at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt at the department for general surgery as a junior consultant. He received the degree of Doctor of Medicine at the J.W. Goethe University of Frankfurt in Germany in 1994.

In 1995, after being a junior consultant in general surgery for over 2,5 years, he started his hair surgery education at Transhair, a private clinic for hair transplantation in Düsseldorf, Germany.  In 1998, Dr. Feriduni received his board certification for general medicine in Belgium.
In total Dr. Feriduni dedicated the last 12 years exclusively to learning and mastering hair restoration surgery. Thanks to his lengthy experience and his specialisation within the field, Dr. Feriduni is considered to be one of Europe’s leading experts in both aesthetic and reconstructive hair surgery.

In 2000 he started his own doctor’s office “Private clinic for aesthetic and reconstructive hair surgery – Dr. Feriduni”, together with a team of 5 up to 7 medical assistants and 2 office assistants, which is located in Hasselt, Belgium.
Four medical assistants gained experience in the field of hair transplantation surgery for 6 up to 10 years.  The clinic is built exclusively for the needs of hair restoration surgery and to provide each patient with a maximum service, personal attention and high level of privacy during his stay. A quality assurance program is in progress at the moment.

In addition to the Belgian patients, over 50% of the patients are from foreign countries such as the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and France. Every patient is personally consulted by Dr. Feriduni in English, German, Dutch or French.  Dr. Feriduni personally supervises the progress of each patient and he manages all pre- and postoperative controls from day one throughout the first year.  The progress of each treatment is evaluated and verified using an objective measurement tool named Trichoscan, which is a digital trichogram device.  Prior to each treatment, the patient is carefully examined and a permanent record will be made using this device.

Every patient receives a detailed long-term treatment plan, in which both medical as well as surgical treatment options are taken in consideration.  Since the beginning of 1995 Dr. Feriduni has successfully performed over more than 4400 hair transplantations, with an average of 30 to 40 procedures each month. Due to Dr. Feriduni ‘s principle to offer his patients a highly personalized service, he has chosen to perform only 1 ‘Mega session’ follicular unit transplantation a day. Since the beginning of 2004 Dr. Feriduni has started performing FUE sessions as well.
Dr. Feriduni is one among only a few hair surgeons world wide, who performs both FUST and FUE harvesting techniques, on a daily basis. Dr. Feriduni has developed an indication guide line (ESHRS, Paris 2007 – Title: FUS and FUE, a comparison of both techniques) in which he describes the indications of both harvesting techniques. Dr. Feriduni truly believes that only an educated patient could make a rational decision regarding to which harvesting technique he will chose for his procedure.

Thanks to Dr. Feriduni ‘s outstanding treatment level and thanks to the experience of his medical team, he is able to perform high density FUE sessions up to 2000 follicular unit grafts a single day or up to 3000 follicular unit grafts in a 2 days session. The daily average amount of follicular units in a FUS transplantation varies between 2000 and 3500 FU.

The following advanced tools and techniques are used in each treatment:

1. Double layer trichophytic closure technique or follicular unit extraction using 0,8mm punches
2. Pre-made incision technique combining lateral and coronal slits and fine tuning using “Stick and place” technique
3. Incisions with socor needles (20G and 21G) or/and fit to graft size custom cut blades (0,5mm up to 1,2mm)
Using those precise tools and techniques enables Dr. Feriduni to transplant up to 70 follicular unit grafts per cm², if the indication allows it.

However, in Dr. Feriduni ‘s opinion, one of the most important elements of a successful hair transplantation is the creation of a completely natural looking hairline. This does not only depend on science or skills but it also takes years of experience and a high grade of precision, artistic sense and imagination to perform a natural, undetectable result. Creating the hairline or temporal peaks is a real challenge for each hair surgeon and offers him the opportunity to show his artistic skills.

Besides aesthetic hair surgery, more than 20% of the monthly cases are repair or corrective cases by outdated ex domo performed procedures, or not “State of the art” cases.

Dr. Feriduni also offers scalp reduction procedures by means of the expander- or extender technique and scar revision. Restoring eyebrows, beard or moustache, sideburns, scar camouflage after facelifts, accident or burning injuries are a part of the monthly work. Also eyelash procedures become a growing part in the yearly work.  More than 10% of all monthly cases are women and nearly 2% of all yearly cases are male to female transgender patients.

In addition to surgical treatments, Dr. Feriduni also offers his patients medical therapy consultations with finasteride, dutasteride, minoxidyl and others.  He also believes in his social responsibility and helps those who cannot afford to pay for their reconstructive hair treatment. Through his own foundation, which is raised in 2005, and through the ISHRS ’s Operation Restore, he performs one surgical case each month without charges.  Throughout the last eight years, Dr. Feriduni has trained several European physicians and shared his experience and knowledge openly in performing “State of the art” FU-Transplantation.
