S. Epstein, MD
Dr. Edwin Epstein has specialized in
hair restoration surgery since 1990 and does quality
microscopically prepared follicular unit transplantation.
Dr
Epstein is the only surgeon in Virginia board certified
by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery.
He founded the Stuart Medical Group in 1994, with
his motto: “Artistry in Hair Restoration.”
He is the only physician, and emphasizes to his
staff to treat patients as family, and make them
feel at home. Every patient is unique, and every
transplant must be an individualized work of art.
Surgical emphasis is on follicular unit grafting
with microscopic dissection, but on occasion mixed
follicular unit grafting is used when indicated.
Follicular unit extraction can be performed on a
case by case basis.
Dr Epstein joined the International Society of Hair
Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) in 1992, at its inception,
served as Program Chairman of its 2004 12th Annual
Scientific Meeting, and was elected to the Board
of Governors of the ISHRS in 2004. He serves on
numerous committees including the Ethics, Core Curriculum,
and CME.
