Gregory
A. Pistone, MD is Associate Clinical Professor of
Dermatology and Cutaneous Biology at Thomas Jefferson
University School of Medicine and Drexel University
College of Medicine.
He
has a private practice and state-of-the-art surgicenter
in Marlton, NJ (near Philadelphia), as well as a
consulting office in Center City Philadelphia. His
practice is devoted entirely to hair restoration.
He is also the founder of Progressive Cosmetic Solutions,
a complimentary practice staffed by his associates
which provides additional non-hair related cosmetic
and dermatologic procedures.
Dr.
Pistone utilizes stereomicroscopic follicular unit
transplantation to ensure the most natural results
for his patients. He has performed thousands of
successful hair transplants.
Dr.
Pistone attended the University of Pennsylvania
where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was presented
with the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Award. His medical
training was completed at the Pennsylvania State
University College of Medicine, Hershey Medical
Center in Hershey, PA. During his time there he
performed research in the Department of Plastic
and Reconstructive Surgery involving the skin’s
sensory receptors as well as studies on ways to
improve the survival of skin grafts and flaps. His
findings were published in the journal Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgery. After completing an Internship
at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, he completed
his Dermatologic training at the Temple University
Health Sciences Center.
Dr.
Pistone has had a successful private practice since
1984, has served as Chief of Dermatology within
the Thomas Jefferson University Health System, and
is currently on the faculty of both Thomas Jefferson
and Drexel University Schools’ of Medicine
where he teaches physicians-in-training about hair
transplantation.
The
doctor is a member of numerous professional organizations,
including: the American Academy of Dermatology,
American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American
Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the International
Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.
Dr
Pistone has the privilege of being one of less than
40 surgeons worldwide chosen for membership in the
International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons.
Hair Transplant surgeons chosen for this honor must
meet and maintain high standards, not only in their
surgical results but also in patient care and ethical
behavior.
Dr
Pistone’s contributions to the field of hair
transplantation and excellence in patient care have
earned him the honor of being recognized in Philadelphia
Magazine’s 2003 “Top Plastic Surgeons”.
He has been featured in numerous newspaper articles
and has appeared on FOX News, as well.
